Magical Pants

I needed to make a special new pair pants for little Amelia, so I pulled out one of my favorite patterns. Alison’s baby bell bottom’s are just the cutest, don’tcha think?

To make them extra special (and magical), I used my Weasley’s Wizard Wheezes colorway in the new Merino sport. I did the 6 month size with just 1 skein! I did start to run short at the end, so I omitted the last two rows before I did the hem turning row. I also cut a row off of the hem so that I had enough for the drawstring.

Pattern: Baby Bell Bottoms by Alison Hansel
Yarn: Sunshine Yarns Merino Sport in the Weasley’s Wizard Wheezes colorway
Needles: Addi US4 (3.5mm); 40″ for legs and 16″ for body
Measurements: To fit a 6 month old
Started: October 15, 2008
Finished: October 31, 2008
Other Details: It only took one skein of the sport, but I did have cut off a few rows so that I would have enough yarn for the drawstring. The only change I made was knitting the legs in the round vs. flat!

Happy Thanksgiving

Wishing you all a wonderful holiday!

Other Details: This was second go-round with this hat pattern and I loved it even more this time!

Amelia Knitting

Sweet, little Amelia can finally be the one to model lots of Knitting Sunshine baby knits. The things you’ll see below were posted on the blog already (if you could all see my baby knits drawer – GASP). Let me show you just a few…..

The Royal Alpaca Baby Set I threw in my luggage when I had this sudden epiphany that it was a girl and not a boy –

Amelia getting some tummy time on her new Block Baby Blanket

Another Basic Hat I knit last year that is just so cute on Amelia –

And, the little sweet pea in her Sweet Pea Hat and matching onesie –

Are you wondering what that blanket is with the Basic Hat? Tomorrow, I’ll get a start on some of the latest Amelia baby knits – since I am working to catch up from a few weeks back!

I haven’t made mention of the fact that a few weeks ago, I plowed through all four of the Twlight books in five days. These books were completely amazing and I was really an emotional mess when I was finished. I still am.

So, last night at midnight, we surrounded ourselves (out of our own free will) with hundreds of 16 year old girls to see the first showing of Twilight.

I don’t want to give anything away, but I can tell you that I left feeling disapointed and sad; maybe unsettled would be a better word. I’d love to hear your thoughts, any takers?!

Sweet, Sweet Amelia

Rachel and Peter are now the proud parents of this beautiful baby girl, Amelia Avery – born November 11th, 2008. Scott and I were able to join them down in Florida this past week while the adoption was finalized…. we were so lucky to be there for lots of the first and amazing baby moments.

Tomorrow, I’ll have a few more pictures of this cutie pie in some of her first handknits. I know – a baby to finally dress!
