Happy Easter

Yes, a finished knitting project! And, just in time for baby Isabella’s 1st Birthday (and Easter).

Mr. Bunns in his natural environment:

Yes, I did say Mr. Bunns — that is what I was calling him. He is a very secure man-bunny with the pink bow and all!

Pattern: Loveable Toys by Marion Edmonds. Published in one of my all-time favorite knitting books, Last Minute Knitted Gifts by Joelle Hoverson.
Yarn: Blue Sky Alpacas Sport Weight in natural, 000.
Needles: US 6 (4.00mm)
Measurements: One size
Started: March 23, 2010
Finished: March 29, 2010
Other Details: The bunny looks like anything but a bunny when you are knitting it. Then you stuff it and put on those ears… aww!

Have a very Happy Easter and Passover!

Just in case you missed it, I love baby knitting :) I do have a few other 2009 projects to post, but those will come tomorrow!

Keeping Amelia Warm

I have had so few opportunities to knit lately — the smaller the project the better! That’s why I decided to knit Ms. Amelia a new handspun hat and mitten set this year. She had this one from last year, and it looked so cute on her.

A new hat for 2009/2010, with some matching mittens!

Amelia's New Set
Amelia's new mittens

Pattern: The hat was based on Susan B. Anderson’s Football Hat out of Itty Bitty Hats, and the mittens were from her book, Itty Bitty Nursery
Yarn: Aloft Fibers Handspun; Scrappy skein
Needles: Addi 16″ and 40″ US 7, DPN’s US7
Measurements: 1-2 year size
Started: September, 2009
Finished: September, 2009
Other Details: Can you tell I’m a Susan B. junkie?!

Don’t the colors remind you of Anthropologie?? I hope it fits Amelia well, and keeps her warm this winter!

My Little Model

Rachel and Peter sent me some fabulous new pictures of Amelia yesterday, and I just had to share. Remember this dress? Doesn’t she look like a little model, straight out of a Rowan baby knits book?

My little love – growing up so fast!

Amelia Vine Flower Dress

A big thank you to Anne Hanson, for dreaming up such a great pattern! Enjoy :)

Long Time Coming

This project has been around forever. I started it last summer for a wee one and well, it didn’t get finished! Now that its finally seamed and blocked, it will be moving on to a long-time friend who is expecting a little boy the end of this summer.

Pattern: Get Ziggy by Anny Purls
Yarn: Rowan All Seasons Cotton; #231 Bark
Needles: Addi 24″ US 8
Measurements: 6 month size
Started: June 2008
Finished: July 4, 2009
Other Details: It has been too long since I finished knitting this – I don’t remember if I changed anything. I don’t think I did :-)

And, this Tuesday, July 7th, I will be having a FREE SHIPPING day over at Sunshine Yarns. A rainbow-ey amount of colors will be making their way into the store. Stop by and say hello!
